Robin was educated at Stonyhurst and graduated from Loughborough University in Business Administration and French. He joined Metal Bulletin and later established his own printing agency in the UK on behalf of a Belgian offset printer.

Robin acted as an export sales manager for Omnicrom Systems Ltd, establishing a worldwide distribution network and living for some time in USA. In 1988 he became involved in financial disciplines in the engineering sector and held a number of directorships.

Robin is an Anglo-Swiss national, his mother is Genevese and he has family living in and around Geneva. He is married with three children and will relocate with his family to Geneva in the near future.

Robin is bilingual in French and English and speaks fluent Portuguese.
